Urgently By Eugénio de Andrade

I guess since I started to read and write I got fascinated by poetry, and Eugénio de Andrade (1923 - 2005)  became one of my favorite Portuguese Poets.

Eugénio de Andrade won all of Portugal's major literary awards and many other international prizes for Poetry. He's poetry is always simple, in general with short but intense poems, apparently simple they always evoke physical and material energy and the plenitude of the senses and life, trough naked words and images focusing on the world of matter . He always uses the classical archaic elements of earth, water, air and fire, also the human body with a soft and delicate dose of sensuality and sexuality.

While teenager, I had the privilege to meet him in a poetry conference and had some of my books autographed by him, a little treasure that i will always keep with love.

The poem below is a famous one, from the book "Forbidden Words - Selected Poems" and though its short is full of meaning.

Basically its says that it it important to search happiness  in order to end war and the sadnesses of life, For that we should seize and nurture the Love, the Freedom 'a boat upon the sea', the joy and the hope 'glistening mornings', the Nature 'discover roses and rivers' and destroy the hate, cruelty and loneliness and destroy 'many swords' symbol of war and violence.

Definitely it would be great to be able to leave in a better place, a place of love where it would be possible to eliminate the negative side of the world and life, and it's there that you see the difficulty of it 'Silence and impure light fall upon/ our shoulders till they ache'.

Simple and beautiful…

URGENTLY
It’s urgent — love.
It’s urgent — a boat upon the sea.
It’s urgent to destroy certain words,
hate, solitude, and cruelty,
some moanings,
many swords.
It’s urgent to invent a joyfulness,
multiply kisses and cornfields,
discover roses and rivers
and glistening mornings — it’s urgent.
Silence and an impure light fall upon
our shoulders till they ache.
It’s urgent — love, it’s urgent
to endure.

Proenza Schouler for MAC

Another great partnership is hitting MAC stores very soon with a special limited edition by Proenza Schouler for 2014's spring.

Beauty has always played a huge role in what we do on the runway and M·A·C has been one of our biggest supporters. We wanted to create something that the Proenza Schouler woman could relate to off the runway, and the M·A·C brand is so deeply rooted in fashion that we knew they would understand our vision.” – Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler

Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, Proenza Schouler designers are known for their very natural makeup looks in the runway. So this super expected collaboration that will include Ombre Face Powders, Lipsticks, Pro Longwear Eye Liners and Lip Pencils, Nail Lacquers and a Powder Brush will definitely go in line with Proenza Schouler natural style, witch i'm a huge fan.

You cannot miss the opportunity to have some of the items of this collection…besides the packaging in very summer electric colors is just amazing!!!!

The launch date will be in April 2014 in some selected MAC stores.

Asma Sckali the talented local Qatari designer behind her brand was inspired from the twenties were glamour and the black and white were the iconic colors.

"Black and White represents the past and the present of Arabic women who took the passage of evolution stands for her traditions and moral. The name of the collection came from the Gulf culture in the past; how they dressed and covered their faces by a black cloth called Bousheya inspired the name of the collection."

The collection was showcased in the St. Regis Doha under a very private and cozy environment, presented by the the Qatar Tv news anchor Ms. Sara Alshaabi and the Art Expert Ms. Amal Al-aathem.

Chanel goes chic Grocery shopping for AW14 Collection

Chanel's fashion show is definitely one of the most awaited in Paris fashion week!!! It's no surprise that it will be an explosion of exuberance, extravagance and creativity.

For this Fall/Winter 2014 Karl Lagerfeld brought the fashion show to another level of ultimate and genius creativity transforming the Grand Palais into a big Chanel Shopping Center. just Fabulous!!! Absolutely fabulous!!!!

Instead of a normal runway, the models where walking around the aisles shopping and filing their grocery trolleys and baskets genially trimmed with Chanel's signature bag chain, with all sorts of products with Chanel's logo and customization…you could find diary products, vegetables, cleaning goods, drinks and all you can find in a grocery store…just brilliant!!!

Ohh and the collection?!?!? Brilliant…A explosion of color and textures…can't wait for such colorful season...

And at the end of the show all the guest where able to serve themselves with Chanel's goodies …

This year you may have noticed that the fringes are one of the fashion It for the year and they came to stay… wherever you go you can spot them in shoes, bags, clothes, necklaces and so on…

After adding to my closet some new high heels with fringes…I just spotted these super cool Gommino Ballerina's by Tod's….
