Swarovski "Facets of Light " collection 2014, unveiled at Lagoona Mall

To celebrate the launch of its 2014 Fall/Winter “Facets of Light” collection, Swarovski with the collaboration of Fash Squad Qatar hosted a spectacular event at its Lagoona Mall boutique with VIPs, loyal customers, local media and brand representatives in attendance.

Combining the finest techniques with a brilliant array of colors, Swarovski has created a Fall/Winter collection that highlights the radiance and resplendence of crystal as no one but a ‘master of facets and light’ could. Sharp, classic, chic pieces compose looks fitting for a diversity of personalities, tastes and occasions. In short, there is something for everyone, and plenty of opportunity for unique, personalized combinations.

While describing her intentions for the new collection, Swarovski Creative Director Nathalie Colin explained: “My constant search for modernity will meet refinement, glamour and femininity in this collection that celebrates lights, facets and reflections. All in all, this collection perfectly exemplifies Swarovski’s DNA by combining art, fashion and creation in a sparkling way.”

The unveiling of “Facets of Light” was an occasion to view the latest Swarovski trends generating exceptional artistic effects, especially concerning the mix and match of crystals. By exhibiting “live-styling” on mannequins, the trendy jewelry brand demonstrated how jewelry can transform a silhouette.

O Captain! My Captain! BY WALT WHITMAN

I read this poem some time ago, and found it profound and interesting. "O Captain, My Captain" is an elegy, describing Abraham Lincoln's death through an analogy.

Full of symbolism Whitman referrers to Lincoln as the head of a great ship (America) crossing the sea (Civil War) and then nearing the port towards "end of war". Its interesting how he symbolizes the port as a goal of the Union to free the salves and then when the ship reaches near the port…The Captain falls dead on the deck signifying Lincoln's assassination.

Walt Whitman's grief is accentuated through the contrast of celebrations of victory and lamentations of death….

O Captain! My Captain!

The ship has weather’d every rack, the prize we sought is won,

The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,

Valentino Logo-go Bag re-edited

Valentino have just re-edited the Valentino Garavani Logo-Go Bag. The creative Directors Maria Grazia and Pierpaolo Piccioli took from the house's archives from the 80's this bag and re-invented it for this Fall/Winter 2014 collection.

The bags are definitely a vintage classic bag, brought to life in beautiful pastel colors that will never get out of fashion.

Definitely a must on any girls wardrobe! A classic is never to much right?

Barbie is probably the most famous doll in history! I had several with a vast wardrobe and with so many accessories for them that I could be lost for hours playing with them….

Now Mattel, Inc. and KARL LAGERFELD announced the launch of a Barbie Lagerfeld on the 29th September 2014. A barbie that will have the coolest rock'n'roll-influence style…

This Platinum-label barbie doll that I'm sure many collector are excitingly waiting for, will be available in very limited quantities and through exclusive retail channels including NET-A-PORTER.COM, TheBarbieCollection.com, Colette in Paris and selected KARL LAGERFELD retail stores.

This Barbie Lagerfeld is taking the designers signature style, taking Karl's iconic silhouette, the Barbie wears  a gorgeous tailored black jacket, white high-collared men's shirt with French cuffs and black satin cravat finished off with black jeans.
