Argo

Doha TriBeCa Film Festival just ended....so sad I did not had time to see all the movies I wanted!
This is in fact one of the best annual events here in Qatar, bringing a different movement to the city.  This year the idea of having different locations for the movie screening was quite interesting and brought a new dynamic to the festival.
One of the things I like the most is the possibility to see all this films with Arabic stories, gives you the opportunity to submerge in so many aspects in theArab culture, andddd there's no cuts on the festival movies!!!!
So I just saw one film, but fantastic one!!!! ARGO with Ben Affleck staring and directing it. I'm crossing my fingers for at least a nomination for the oscars, it is definitely worthy to see it! Based in a true story of a secret operation to extract 6 fugitives from the American Diplomatic personnel out of revolutionary Iran.

Other films I wish I had the time to have seen ....
'The reluctant fundamentalist' based on Mohsin Hamid's best selling novel, it explores the cultural divide between East and West after 9/11.
'The repentant' Algerian story about a jihadist living in the mountain hideout to return home and to a normal life.
'God's horses' Moroccan movie inspired in the terrorist attacks in Casablanca in 2003. The film follows 2 men for a 10 year period, from their innocent youth, to terrorism and sacrifice.
Inshallah I will have the opportunity to see them!
